Car Buying Diary

The transportation at home has never changed since transitioning from bicycles to motorcycles. During middle school and high school, my dad would ride the motorcycle to pick me up and drop me off every weekend and during holidays, rain or shine. At that time, I was thinking about when our family would be able to have a car for transportation. This desire was especially strong during winter, rainy, and snowy days.

Opportunity came in 2021 when my dad suddenly wanted to get a driver's license. The process went smoothly and he obtained the license within two months. This sparked the idea of getting a car for our family.

Unfortunately, I had already planned to get a car for my dad to use at home, as I rarely drive. However, in the second half of 2021, due to cryptocurrency, our savings were almost depleted, so the plan had to be put on hold. It was still manageable at that time. The main issue arose during the May Day holiday in 2022 when I had to rush back home for my cousin's wedding. Relatives gathered for meals and drinks, naturally discussing various topics such as work, marriage, salary, comparisons, and so on. It was annoying, and I thought that I must get a car during the May Day holiday in 2023.

By the May Day holiday in 2023, most of the debts were paid off, and we had saved some money. However, there was an unexpected surge in travel demand, and we couldn't secure tickets. Finally, during the National Day holiday, I brought my brother-in-law along to choose a car. We looked at various brands such as Geely, Haval, Changan, and BYD. I let my dad make the decision, and he chose the Lynk & Co 06. It was that simple. When making the payment, my dad joked that the money lost could have bought three cars...

Now, transportation has become much more convenient. I can occasionally observe through the home's surveillance cameras. Travel time has significantly decreased, and the most important thing is that we can now shield ourselves from wind and rain and transport goods. That's what really matters.
