Flight Diary - Equipment Section

With the standalone sale of DJI O3 Sky End, the analog image transmission suffered a blow (ignoring the price factor). In addition to the recent construction and improvement of domestic Unicom 5G signals, the 900MHz frequency band may no longer be useful in the future, so I gritted my teeth and updated my equipment.

Equipment Update#

TX16s+TBS Crossfire 915 ---> iFlightC8+elrs2.4
Skyzone04X+RF receiver ---> DJI G2 integrated goggles
Mark5 analog version ---> Mark5DC O3 version
GEP-CL35 analog version ---> AstroRC35 O3 version
GEP 5-inch Baby Crocodile long-range analog version ---> iFlight F6D O3 version

Replacement Experience#

  1. The O3 image transmission is indeed powerful, giving a feeling of switching from "black and white TV" to "color TV". With 4K card recording, it's like saving money on a sports camera for amateur players, perfect.
  2. The board control has been changed to joystick control, and the travel experience is maximized. TX16s is really too big and heavy. I went flying during the May Day holiday and I'm still adapting to the joystick control.
  3. Elrs2.4 has not been used for long-range flight yet, so it's hard to evaluate. It is estimated to be the future trend. After all, the 900MHz frequency band has been occupied by Unicom, and our amateur equipment cannot compete with professional equipment.
  4. Here are my rate values:
1.00.70.15
1.00.650.15
1.00.60.15
